Skylights and solar powered LEDs light make this place bright and cheerful. There are plenty of food items, from raw ingredients to processed, ready to eat. You can cook food from scratch or do some canning. There's also a place to sit and eat on a 2nd floor area.
We drive 2 1/2 hrs to get our cheese and deli meats here, along with some flour, sugar and baking things. They have a great sandwich/salad counter also.
A very cool little market,and the cinnamon rolls are absolutely delicious,.I really liked all the assortment of food there,.the wife and I will definitely be back.its Worth the little drive from Mattoon.

A modern Amish grocery store. Reasonable prices i.e. 20 Oz jar canned cherry pie filling for 6.80 and 3.29 for a blackberry jam 10oz. Establishment is inviting, clean and well maintained.
My mom and I really enjoyed our shopping experience at Shady Crest Farm Market. It was a cold, blustery wind type of day so we didn't linger outside for very long. We took our time looking at all the decoration items that they have near the entrance of the market. The fall decorations were 10% off which was nice. They offer a lot of locally made items in their store such as salsas, jams and many other items. They have a deli that was pretty busy when we were there. We had just ate so we didn't walk over to the deli area. They have seating available on the first floor and on the second floor. We can't wait to go back and have lunch there one day. The store was clean and they have public restrooms.
Another store we stop in when we are in Arthur for bakery goods, barbecue sauce, salsa, dips, specialized popcorn, candy, and more. The staff is always friendly and you can find unique grocery goods, local produce, sandwiches, and fried pies. It's a great little store that has grown so much in all the years we've been going there. You have to make sure you visit all the locally-owned stores in town, as they support locally-owned businesses. Amish are always helping in disasters, so we need to ensure these businesses are supported by all of us. Besides all their foods don't contain the preservatives that you get in chain grocery stores.
Great deli and ice cream always but you may not know that you can sometimes buy fruit crates from them during certain times of the year. Reasonably priced and perfect for diy projects. My up-cycled fruit crates from shady crest are being used in a wedding decor arrangement
